As parents ourselves, we wanted to create something that sparks imagination, builds confidence, and turns screen time into story time. What started as bedtime tales for our own kids grew into a mission to bring personalized, magical storytelling to families everywhere.

Sandra Matz is a behavioral scientist and a Professor at Columbia University. Her research uncovers how digital experiences shape identity, creativity, and behavior. Sandra co-founded Story Heroes with the belief that AI can be a powerful force for good when values and human well-being are placed at its core. As a proud mom, she built Story Heroes to inspire curiosity, confidence, and emotional growth in the next generation.

Savannah combines years of media experience with a lifelong love of storytelling. As the daughter of a school teacher, she has always believed storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to teach values, spark imagination, and bring loved ones closer together. A Columbia MBA, she founded Story Heroes to help families share more stories and create meaningful moments together.
